Cozumel needs to improve sanitation. We are long time customers of Cozumel and Wildflours and typically enjoy the food. However, we got out of line last night and left Cozumel as I totally lost my appetite. As we stood in line awaiting a table, we noticed a waitress continually carrying trays of food on her shoulder. With each tray of food she delivered to a table, her shoulder length hair dangled directly into the food. I was just too grossed-out to eat so we left.

My husband and I have been looking for an authentic Mexican Restaurant since we moved here in June. We thought we'd give this restaurant a try. We were the only people in the restaurant and there were a few people seated at the bar. We were seated promptly and service was excellent. As far as the food, we were not impressed with it. We frequented a Cozumel Restaurant in Cleveland, Oh quite often because of it's wonderful flavor and authenticity. We had hoped this would be comparable. We were disappointed with the flavor of this food; very bland. I'd have to say that we're still on the search for the best Mexican Restaurant in the Triangle area.

I tried a lunch combo, they have all the typical numbered combos you find at Mexican restaurants in the South. I was not impressed, the food was bland. I ordered a chicken burrito and cheese quesadilla, and the rest of the plate was filled up with a pile of lettuce and some guacamole that looked like it had been sitting out for a while. I was disappointed by the fact that they used cheddar cheese in everything, including the cheese quesadilla. I much prefer the white Mexican cheese that melts well that I've seen in other establishments. I can make better Mexican food in my home kitchen.

Totally pass by this one and go to one of the 4-6 other great mexican restaurants within a five mile radius. My husband and I have gone to them all and this one got one visit. If you like Don Pablos or On The Border, you might be semi-okay with this, it's a quick fix Mexican. But there are way too many wonderful authentic Mexican restaurants in the area to choose this one. Good location, nice facility, but quality of food was a disappointment. Sorry Cozumel.

Cozumel is excellent! Much better than the other run of the mill Mexican restaurants that seem to all buy their menus and recipes from the same place. If you are looking for something different, start with a "Cozumel Burrito" Their margarita specials mid-week are excellent too!
